Abiola's Daughter Calls The Government 'Bastards' For Naming UNILAG After Her Father
While the students of Moshood Abiola University protested the name change, Abiola's daughter Olawunmi Abiola expressed bitterness over the development.
Olawunmi posted on twitter: "Naming a university after my dad doesn't make up for wat u all did to him...BASTARDS".
Late MKO Abiola's daughter was obviously showing anger over the way her father died. In 1994, MKO Abiola was arrested after he declared himself the lawful president of Nigeria. This order came from military President General Sani Abacha, who sent 200 police vehicles to bring him into custody.
Moshood Abiola was detained for four years, he died under suspicious circumstances on the day that he was due to be released, on July 7, 1998.
It seems no one is happy over this name change? Not even the family of Late MKO Abiola.

Your very right & correct my lady they have no rights to name that institution after ur fathers name cause what the government did to him that particular time was totally unfair,even upto his wife kudiraht,i was a kid then but knew all these that happend that year. They shouldn't had done that, they, they just want 2 hurt the fellings of the family. Y do they want 2 honour sum 1 they never wanted to achive his political abition but rather took the life of him & his beloved wife. She talked out of anger and she should nt be blamed for it,the name UNILAG is a brand and it would be plain stupidity to change it
