Deputy Gov Of Akwa-Ibom State Resigns From Office
Following some moves of impeachment, the Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr Nsima Ekere on Wednesday resigned from office.
The Deputy Governor's resignation was made public via the Press Secretary to the Governor, Inemesit Ina, who said that the resignation came in a letter dated Wednesday, October 2012 from Mr Ekere where he stated his resignation based on personal grounds.
There was a gist that the members of the State House of Assembly had already made some move to impeach the Deputy Governor.
The letter of resignation signed by the Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor Mr. Inemesit Ina reads, ”The Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Nsima Ekere, has resigned from office.”
”In a letter of resignation dated Wednesday, October 31, 2012, Mr. Ekere said he was resigning on personal grounds.”
”He thanked the Governor and the good people of the state for the opportunity given him to serve the state in the last 17 months.”
”Mr. Ekere wished the Governor and the people well in the remaining years of the administration.”
