Footballer Christian Obodo who was kidnapped yesterday, has been rescued by men of the Nigerian Police force.

Some of the kidnappers were also arrested in an operation, as the police tracked the kidnap gang to a forest  in Emevor, an Isokoland township lying between Ughelli and Oleh about 1 hour 30 minutes drive from Warri.

The Delta state Commissioner of Information confirmed this rescue mission and its success, he stated that some five kidnappers were arrested in what he referred to as a "purely police operation".

No ransom money was paid as the kidnappers had earlier demanded 150,000 Euros.
